The winners of Pulitzer Prizes came out. It reminds me of my photojournalism course in SG. To be honest, it was quite hard for me in the second semester but at the same time thankful, cuz my classmates at that time were very kind and with good skill of photography(compare with me)!

I really miss the days that picked up the camera(Nikon D70) and just choose whatever place to shoot. Or I should say I miss the day traveling freely and without pressure. I'm looking forward to the day that I can be an observer in the trip once again n I can see the world with whole new angle, writing, photographing freely:)

Back to the Pulitzer Prizes, the work of the winner of Breaking News Photography is very astonishing to me. The serious of black-n-white photos contains lots of tears, pain and courager that made me tearful when I saw them. Especially the one a woman lifted herself off soon as she gave birth to her child for spare the place for another woman to deliver-how brave she was?! and I even can feel her pain through the pic which touched my heart very much. http://www.pulitzer.org/works/2009-Breaking-News-Photography

As to the Feature Photography, I should admit that I dun surprised and dun really like the prize goes to "Obama" cuz he already catch much much attention from the media around the world. Okay, say it directly, I'm a bit tired of him (he's in every issue of Newsweek and Time, even his dog...) :p But I can deny the photos of him are good, some are incredible, like the one he and the cloud. Oh, I forgot to say, the first one of the collection which was Obama stood in the rain is quite handsome, hahah...(did I say I'm tired of him?!) Here's the work. http://www.pulitzer.org/works/2009-Feature-Photography

Anyway, u should hv a look of these amazing works!

What's the different between Burma and Mynmar?

An opinion from my cute friend Nini that she think the translation of the country name sounds neither like Burma or Mynmar:D

Somehow the name u choose presents the political position of you, but it's not so serious sometimes. The ruling military junta changed the original name'Burma' to 'Mynmar' in 1989. Therefore, people who pro democracy for Burmese, they insistuse Burma as the country name. However, in other cases, many people don't care abt how they call this country, either Burma or Mynmar.

And actually, I was surprised that BBC News now still use Burma when they report the news. On the other hand, CNN news also use Burma and sometimesuse Mynmar as additional remark. That means even the news press they also condemn the cruel ruling of 'Mynmar' government.

In my opinion, there must be many ppl don't know what's the situation of Burma nowadays. I admitted that before I went to Singapore, I also hv no idea abt it, evenI did the whole semester essay abt ASEAN. Somehow I think that maybewe should pay a bit moreattentionto other countries even u may think theyaren't worthy it.

Btw, I even didn't know Burma (Mynmar) changed their capital from Rangoon (Yangon) to Nay Pyi Taw!

Anyway, as usual, here r some links abt it.The video which CNNshot is quite but not complete><

During the past few days, i kept thinking, 'what's wrong with our world?'

I remembered the night I was sitting in front of my desk, checking the CNN news. Then I saw a news abt blast in Islamabad, Pakistan. Yeah yeah, it's not so surprise to see it cuz this 'kind' of news shows everyday. Then I click the play bottom to see the video of this news. The ground was covered by blood, injured ppl everywhere and the Marriott Hotel was still burning.

WHAT THE HELL THIS KIND OF WORLD?!

Let's do a little test. The first thinking when u heard the news, how did u think abt it? I guess it's obvious for everyone to guess- terrorism may be the popular answer. Ever since 911 2001, the word TERRORISM seemed to become a fation, showing everyday in the news. Back to my subject, that's right, terrorism again could be the answer to this tragedy. The news yesterday 'Dinner plans save Pakistan's rulers from hotel bomb attack' on CNN website showed that originally Pakistan president prime minister and some leaders planned to hv dinner in Marriott. It means that the original target maybe them......?

Something i just wanna say

The news reminded me a book I read two month ago- 'Daughter of The East'(dun be shocked, i just read the chinese one which i bought in Beijing and was my best friend before sleep at that time). It's abt Benazir Bhutto who was assasinated in Pakistan, her motherland. The story abt her life and her whole family was quite fascinating, and that all related to Pakistan politics which attracted me most. After finishing this book, I check some information abt Bhutto family and Pakistan politics, and found out that there was a 'role' always behind, just like the invisible hand Adam Smith said. Dun ask me who is that, go to check it out!

If anyone wants to know more abt Pakistan, here are some references:

That's what i found on BBC website. And if u're interested in the internation affairs, u must see it. Even if u don't, i still hope u check it.

This is my second time to see how N Korea people to escape from their country with one week. Therefore i found out why they always choose border between N Korea and Chinese, cuz it's almost impossible to be sucessfully alive across the border between N Korea and S Korea. According to the Geography, there is a world's biggest landmine zone in the Nand S Korea border. After escaping to China successfully, they hv to work hard to save money for escape again from China to Tailand for seeking help from S Korea embassy so it means at the same time, they hv to HIDE hard to avoid the chinese police or they might be send back. For sure, sending back as treason couldn't be something good...

Back to the video which BBC made, i quite admire the way they report it. To me, that's maybe the news i wanna work with, that is something ppl from different countries should know(okay, that's mine opinion).

Beside, there is another news today that N Korea celebrated their 60-year-old birthday WITHOUT " General" Kim Jong-il. Everyone is guessing where he is now, is he alive or what?!

Remember last time i did the presentation abt N Korea declared they were developing the nuclear weapon ,that was two years ago. It seems things didn't change much since two years ago, N Korea is still a mystery to the outside world and ppl there are still innocent ,poor and hopeless. Yeah, actually, i dunno how can we do except feeling sorry for them.

Anyway, do not forget to check the video.

Wahahaaaaaaaaa! That's what I found at BBC website. It seems that every communism coutry has such similar propaganda posters. Forgot to say this is from North Korea which to against imperialism. Hope one day I can see the whole these propaganda things in N Korea, that's right, as that one I saw in Shanghai, China.

Anyway, although these is not much to see in this pictures story, u still can scan it if u want. Here's the website:
